WebP Converter & Resizer

Conversion results
- Original
- WebP
- Change
Turn one JPG, PNG, HEIC, or HEIF photo into one or several ready-to-use WebP sizes. Adjust quality, keep transparent areas when needed, and download the results without an upload step.
Your image is not uploaded. Decoding, resizing, WebP encoding, and ZIP creation happen inside this browser tab.
Quick guide
Three steps, all in this tab
- 1 Choose one image. Drag it into the workspace or use the file picker.
- 2 Select sizes and quality. Pick one or several widths, then decide how to handle transparency.
- 3 Download the result. One size downloads as WebP; several sizes download as a ZIP.

Supported files and limits
Input formats
JPG/JPEG, PNG, HEIC, and HEIF. The tool checks the file contents as well as the extension and accepts one file at a time. SVG is not supported.
Safety limits
Up to 30 MiB, 8192px on either side, and 50 megapixels total. Large photos can use substantial memory even though their file size looks small.
Output sizes
Original keeps the source pixel dimensions. Large is 2560px wide, Medium is 1600px, and Small is 800px. Presets wider than the source are disabled, so the tool never enlarges the image.
HEIC and Live Photos
HEIC and HEIF are decoded locally only when selected. For a Live Photo, image sequence, or multi-image container, this version uses the representative first still image and does not include the video portion.
Under the hood
How conversion and resizing work
WebP is a modern image format that supports lossy compression and transparent pixels. This tool decodes your source image in the browser, draws each selected size to a canvas with high-quality smoothing, and asks the browser to encode that canvas as WebP at your chosen quality.
Camera orientation is applied while the source is decoded. The new WebP is rendered from pixels rather than copying the original file, so EXIF metadata such as camera details and GPS location is not carried into the output.
For PNG and HEIC inputs, you can leave the canvas transparent or fill it white before the image is drawn. The tool does not scan every pixel just to decide whether transparency exists, which keeps the setup step lighter for large photos.
Common questions
FAQ
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The selected file is read by browser APIs in this tab. The tool does not send the image, its filename, its dimensions, or its generated Blob URLs to a conversion service or analytics.
What quality should I choose?
The 82% default is a practical starting point for photos. Raise it when fine detail matters; lower it when a smaller download matters more. Always inspect the preview and output size for your particular image.
Why is a size option disabled?
A preset is disabled when its target width is larger than the source. Enlarging would add pixels without restoring real detail, so this tool only keeps or reduces the original dimensions.
Does a transparent PNG stay transparent?
Yes, when Preserve transparency is selected. Choose Replace with white if the final image should have an opaque background.
Why might a HEIC file fail?
HEIC is a container with several possible codecs and structures. This version targets common iPhone still photos and the first representative image. If a file uses an unsupported variant, export it as JPEG or PNG on your device and retry.
