Complete frequency list

All analyzed words

Select a word to highlight every occurrence in your draft.

See more than a single total. This writing-focused counter surfaces repeated words, keeps ties in a predictable order, and lets you inspect every matching occurrence without changing your draft.

Your text is not uploaded or saved. Tokenization, counting, ranking, and highlighting happen inside this browser tab without an external API.

    Quick guide

    Find repetition while you write

    1. 1 Type or paste a draft. Counts update automatically after a short pause.
    2. 2 Review the ranking. Bars compare each count with the most frequent word.
    3. 3 Select a word. Every exact token is highlighted without modifying the text or its undo history.

    Counting method

    Words, punctuation, and common terms

    Unicode-aware words

The tool uses the browser’s Unicode word segmenter when available and a Unicode-aware fallback otherwise. Punctuation, repeated whitespace, tabs, and line breaks do not become words.

    Case and apostrophes

Uppercase and lowercase forms share one count. Apostrophe words such as “don’t” and “user’s” remain whole, and straight and smart apostrophes normalize together.

    Common-word filter

“Exclude common words” starts on and removes a compact English list from Total and Unique words. All words always shows the unfiltered count, and the filter can be switched off instantly.

    Plain-text safety

Pasted formatting, links, images, scripts, and event attributes are not inserted. The editable source is always a plain textarea value, limited to 1,000,000 characters.

    Stable highlighting

The editor remains a normal textarea

Highlights are drawn in a synchronized, non-interactive layer behind the textarea. The tool creates only text nodes and mark elements for exact token ranges, so choosing a ranked word does not rewrite the editable DOM, move the caret, alter the draft, or import pasted HTML.
